Meeting Mickey is always special, but this time was particularly amazing because we got to meet Mickey and Minnie TOGETHER! We went to Mickey's house and then met him at the end. Minnie was there too, which is very rare since she's usually somewhere else around Disney World and you have to find her. It was so cool to see them both together!

This is the first of many videos to come of our trip to Disney World last year in April 2008. This is Brian's first experience riding the famous Dumbo ride. All the way down to Florida, he kept saying he was scared of heights, but clearly heights were not a problem for him!

We went back to the park on Sunday with Chaos again and had fun swinging on the rope swing and skateboarding.

An unseasonably warm day in February led to a fun trip to the park, skateboarding, playing with Chaos the dog, and finding a bamboo forest!

my first kickflip!

i skateboarded again tonight for the first time in a long, long time.  i landed my first kickflip tonight too!  i've been trying to land kickflips for so long.  i landed it 7 times.  here's a video of me landing it...but it's hard to see because it's dark and miguel's holding the camera sideways.  and miguel happened to record the worst of the 7 kickflips that i landed.  the others i actually landed smooth.  miguel, ivan, and mario were all there to prove it.  i'm really excited cuz i landed a kickflip for the first time ever!  tomorrow i'll try it again in the daylight!

Oh and yesterday it was totally cool because Lucero wanted to go to church for the first time.  We ask her every weekend, but she never wants to go.  She asked me what it would be like and I said, "You've been to church before?  A long time ago?"  She said yes.  I said, "Okay, it's nothing like that."  So finally she said she wanted to try it.  Brian came too.  We were a little bit late and were going as fast as we could.  Every stoplight was green for us and we found a parking spot and ran to the church.  We got there just as they started the first song and the two kids shouted out, "THANK YOU GOD!!  WE DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING!!"  When the music started Lucero got a big smile on her face and said, "Yeah, this is nothing like the other church I went to.  At the end she said it was really cool and she understands now why Brian and Miguel and I like going to church so much!  Hopefully she'll come with us again.

The Doggies Get a Bath

Yesterday we took Chaos and Max the dogs to the dog park to play. We went for a long walk by the river and the kids had a great time climbing up and down the hills and trying to break the ice covering the river. It was incredibly muddy however and after the dogs were sufficiently dirty, we decided to take them to get baths. Here's our whole bath adventure, recorded in cellphone pictures:

Here are the anxiously waiting puppies. They were not amused at the prospect of getting cleaned.

Max went first. He was not amused.

Now it's time for the dryer!
And here he is, beautiful clean Max with a soft and shiny coat!
Brian had to give Chaos a pep talk before it was his turn. He was not convinced that this was going to be a good experience.
Who's the only unhappy member of this group?
I petted and hugged Chaos while Miguel sprayed warm water on him, since he was feeling a little unsure of this whole bath idea.
Poor little puppy...
He's still not sure if he's going to survive this...
He made it! He survived! Hallelujah!

Now both doggies are smelling good and they're happy and clean!
