Foreign Language for Mooses

ATTENTION ALL MOOSES:

This posting is addressing the necessity of learning a foreign language. To be a respectable moose, one must practice the ancient art of language acquisition. This involves knowing how to say "Ice cream is good and cold" in Swedish, as well as "Call an ambulance" in Spanish. I just began learning Spanish tonight and I can now say "I have a shoelace," as well as the ambulance comment. Some would say that foreign languages for mooses are not necessary. What would you do, however, if the need should arise for a Vietnamese translator? There is talk of an over-sized influx of Vietnamese mooses within the next 6 months. I can, in case you were wondering, say "How does water evaporate?" in Viet. What if your family became migrating mooses and you began journeying north for the winter? It would be awful hard to find the most tender pond weeds if you unable to speak Norwegian. Although you can never learn too many, the minimum amount would be knowing 32 languages if you just want to "get by." Of course all American mooses would agree that the most difficult language of all to learn is Australian. If you are ready for a challenge, and have mastered Chinese, Afrikaans, and Russian, you might give it a try. Until next time,

Peace.

Hello Beth! I have enjoyed your very first blog post. Isn't blogging great?!!!!!!

I agree with you on the necessity of learning many languages, especially when needed to know the phrase for "I need a shoelace," because you really do never know for sure when you might need a shoelace! (I won't comment on the fact that I think I have only bought two new shoelaces in my life--oops, I just did comment on that fact--sorry!)

Anyway, the Swedish for the phrase "ice cream is good and cold" is the following, for anyone else reading this post who doesn't know how to say that: Glass är gott och kallt!"
